Bohdan Dowsing leads the Group’s operations responsible for strategic growth, business planning and shaping the framework that enables employees to excel. He brings a wealth of knowledge in the civil construction industry, with experience gained from a young age.
While Bohdan has been immersed in the business for more than two decades, he officially joined Dowsing Group in 2006 after completing studies in business management. Mentored by the head of the family business, Carl and Jacinta, it was in 2016 that Bohdan was appointed Executive Director.
A strategic and blue-sky thinker, Bohdan has an uncanny ability to find solutions to whole-of-market problems and has been instrumental in scaling the business into new segments.
Bohdan has a solid understanding of the practical facets of service delivery which is drawn from his initiation across all levels of business. He believes the ongoing development of local capability and strong client and stakeholder relationships are essential to the success of the company and delivery of projects.
Chief Financial Officer
Paul is a Chartered Accountant with experience in the areas of financial management, accounting and taxation. Paul Joined the Dowsing Group in December 2015 following a secondment from KPMG Australia’s Private Enterprise practice.
Paul has broad responsibility for the corporate services function including business management systems, contract management, finance, human resources and information technology.
National Business Development Manager
Chris McRae leads and directs Dowsing Group’s sales and marketing, and is also responsible for managing the estimating function. With over 15 years of experience gained across various national markets, Chris brings a well-rounded knowledge-base of the civil and construction industries.
Proven to nurture long lasting relationships with blue-chip organisations through to small operators, Chris helps customers by evaluating their needs and adding value by developing solutions that convert into tangible outcomes.
Known for his positive attitude and optimistic approach, Chris approaches things differently by measuring most things in front of him in opportunity. He has a natural ability for creating business opportunities which are underpinned by his genuine interest in helping customers succeed in the delivery of their infrastructure projects.
Profiling Operations Manager
John Menehira has more than two decades of civil construction industry experience across earthworks, road pavement construction and maintenance, bringing significant road infrastructure experience to the business.
With roles spanning plant operations, supervisory and project management, John has a successful track record in delivering diverse projects including large-scale freeway construction and rail embankments through to subdivisions and road widenings. This broad experience gives him a strong understanding of delivering broad projects in the private sector and for Main Roads Western Australia.
John enjoys working with people and getting the most from his teams to produce best-value outcomes. He holds a certification in training and assessing and civil construction, and was awarded the 2016 Western Australian Safety Innovation award by Australian Asphalt and Pavement Association.
Hardscapes Operations Manager – WA
Carrying the family name, Sam Dowsing was exposed to the business as a youngster. School holidays were spent getting his hands dirty and learning the trade of concreting and footpath construction. Involvement in the company was natural for Sam; not because of the family connection but because of his genuine interest in the craft.
Sam has had an active full-time involvement in the business over the last seven years. He was initially involved in slipform at a time the offering was diversifying, and recently as a project manager for the Hardscapes division. His strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality outcomes have seen Sam appointed the role of operations manager. This pivotal role also takes responsibility for managing the company’s Western Australian local government clients.
While Sam has etched his career under the guidance of his family, he has taken those learnings to adapt his own work style in leading a cohesive team, and adding value to delivering consistent performance and successful project delivery.
Director – Seovic Civil Engineering
Michael Mclean is a Director of Seovic Civil Engineering and leads the company’s east coast operations. He has been involved in the construction equipment industry for 15 years and brings a wealth of knowledge in road construction and maintenance.
Over this time, Michael has seen both the industry and machinery evolve and thrives on solving the new challenges that come with change.
Michael is responsible for strategic planning and execution, commercial management and client relationship management. He has in-depth knowledge of construction equipment in road infrastructure environments and advises on machinery application and which are best suited to specific projects.
Previous to Seovic, Michael worked for a global company, Wirtgen, and was a business owner in the roads industry.
