Our scope involved the construction of concrete road safety barriers within the freeway median. Barriers were constructed using slipform construction methodology, with extrusion undertaken by a Wirtgen SP25 paving machine to ensure consistent profile, alignment and productivity across the corridor. This approach delivered high-quality, precise barrier geometry with minimal disruption to live freeway traffic.

Scope of works included:
- 11.1km varying height concrete road safety barriers constructed via continuous slipform extrusion.
- 9.5Km of TL5 performance-rated barrier with varying embedment depths from 75 mm up to 600 mm due to proximity with the active rail reserve.
- 1.5Km of TL4 barrier installed along designated corridor segments.
- Works delivered under Principal’s Officer (P.O.) supervision with full compliance documentation.
- Traffic management and work sequencing strategies developed to minimise disruption in a constrained live freeway environment.
- Coordination with NRW/WBHO principal contractor teams for scheduling and access within a shared rail/road corridor.
The project required careful coordination across a restricted freeway and adjacent active rail corridor, demanding rigorous planning of concrete supply logistics, plant positioning and traffic management sequencing throughout the full duration of works.
