Dowsing Group was engaged by the City of Wanneroo to construct the 3m wide red oxide asphalt path, together with an extensive stormwater drainage network. Works progressed north in sequence: Stage 1 from Hepburn Avenue to Kingsway, Stage 2 to Arduaine Street, Stage 3 to Queensway Road and Stage 4 to Gnangara Road.

Scope of works included:
- Construction of approximately 2.8 km of 3m wide red oxide asphalt shared path with compacted limestone sub-base
- Earthworks, vegetation clearing, and site preparation
- Installation of stormwater drainage infrastructure including 300 NB RCP, Tunnelwell arch systems, drainage swales, and manhole/bubbler structures
- Construction of semi-mountable kerbing
- Concrete footpath ramps and pedestrian crossings at all path tie-in points
- Survey and service location around existing gas, water, power, telecommunications, and sewer services
- Traffic management on a live arterial road across all four construction stages
- Reinstatement of verge areas, turfing, and landscaping to existing conditions
Using in-house drainage, civil and concrete crews, Dowsing installed the stormwater network and constructed the path as one coordinated sequence of work. This self-perform model enabled tight coordination across the four-stage program, with each stage progressing sequentially to maintain public access and limit disruption along this key north–south corridor.
This project demonstrates Dowsing’s ability to deliver long linear road infrastructure upgrades in a live traffic environment, keeping road users, pedestrians and residents moving safely from start to finish.
